Come and See...
“Come and see what God has done.”
I heard those words spoken by Pastor Louie Giglio at the Passion Conference back in January. Those words now ring in my ear again after this past weekend. Actually, they ring in my ear from what I am consistently witnessing in my own life. Many people are skeptics and don’t believe God exists. I was once at that point in my own life. I thought the idea of God was foolish. I doubted His existence for a period of time. Coming from atheistic views to now someone who only lives for the purposes of God should speak for itself.
I accepted Jesus Christ into my life, and He has radically changed me forever. I can’t even imagine my life apart from Him, nor do I want to. The purpose and love found in a relationship with Jesus Christ is the only thing that will fill the empty void within our hearts.
A few weekends ago I was in Charlotte, NC. I was helping serve for a church service at a business convention held at Time Warner Cable Arena. Thousands of people came in early to worship and praise our Savoir, Jesus Christ. That was pretty incredible, seeing how the service started at 7 A.M. But what was even more incredible was the response of people who wanted to accept Jesus Christ into their own life- hundreds of people responded to the call. Hundreds. I find that pretty incredible. That was just one Sunday morning in one arena. If that could happen in one moment, imagine what is happening all around the world?
Like I mentioned earlier, many people don’t believe in God. But what I want to say is this- open your eyes. Look around and you will find Gods handiwork in this world.
Take a look at what this one verse reads;
“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” Romans 1:20
Even just by the earth and sky, we have clear evidence that there is a Creator. We are without excuses when it comes to believing in God. Now imagine if your eyes were opened to His spirit and power working through the lives of broken people. When we witness that, we are DEFINITELY without excuse to believe in Him.
When you seek for God, you will find Him. The bible promises that to us. Some of us don’t ever find God because we don’t want to seek for Him. We don’t want to put any effort into it. That was me at one point, until my longing for some unanswered questions nagged me so much I couldn’t relent in my pursuit of knowing if God was real or not. Now, after much seeking, I have found Him. And it has become more than just finding Him. I know Him, love Him, adore Him, and can’t imagine living without Him. I see and sense Him every day, and I know He is leading me through this life. I am no one special. God interacts with many people like this. All I ever did was lay down my pride, and surrendered my life to Jesus. That’s all anyone needs to do if they want to truly find God.
From my own experiences in giving my life to Jesus, to going to a young adult conference that had 40,000 students in attendance (all there to lift up the name of Jesus together), witnessing hundreds of people give their life to Christ at a business convention church service, to seeing the hardest of hearts literally be softened and changed by the Gospel… I could go on and on about how I have witnessed the hand of God in my own life. I’ve only been following Jesus for a little more than five years now, and I can say, there is nothing more real than Him. There is nothing worth living for apart from Him.
With all that said, I want to encourage you to seek until you find Him for yourself. No matter what the cost. No matter how long it takes. Seek, and you will find. Once you find Him you will not be disappointed. Once that happens you’ll be able to say for yourself, “Come and see what God has done.”
