365

There are 365 days a year.

Let’s say you will live till you’re about 90.

Now let’s just include the years from 20 to 90

365 days x 70 years = 25,550.

That’s 25,550 days given to you to impact someone’s life.

Now think about this: every day you decided to be a blessing in someone’s life. Whether the gesture is big or small- a smile, compliment, a gift, service towards them or encouragement. If you live till you’re 90, you can impact AT LEAST 25,550 people in your lifetime. That’s a lot for the average person!

This is my point:

Don’t waste your life on yourself. God has given you a life for a purpose. You can have more impact on this world than you realize. That kind of impact is up to you. Will you waste your days on yourself? Our culture is SO consumed on self. We obsess over what we wear, drive, look like, our makeup, hair, accessories, what shoes I’m wearing, how many likes can I get on this picture or how many followers can I get. Our culture is overly consumed with me, me, and… me! Will you be like EVERYONE else in the world and waste your life on yourself?

Or will you spend your days serving and loving people? God has created you to KNOW His love and to spread that love to the world.

This is what the bible says:

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!”
Philippians 2:3-8

I’ve said it before, and I will keep saying this point: Jesus Christ set the example of how we should live. Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Lord of Lords valued OTHERS before Himself. He sacrificed Himself for us because that is what God called Him to do. It was through His radical, sacrificial love that made a way for us to be reconciled back to God the Father.

We are not exempt from that same way of life. We are not exempt from radical, sacrificial love for the broken world we live in. That is our job and duty and Christians- to show the world what Jesus Christ’s love looks likes.

We don’t know how many days God will grant each of us on this earth. I used the example of living 90 years as a way to open your eyes. I understand that not everyone will live till they are 90. Everyone’s “expiration date” is different. But what I am expressing is this: make the MOST out of the days that has been given you. It is easy to walk through life like a zombie, not making a real impact on anyone’s life. Don’t let that happen to you.

Give your life to Jesus Christ. Surrender everything you are to your Creator so that you can find who HE wants you to be. As you discover that, He will use your gifts, talents, abilities, and personality to impact this world for the kingdom of God. God WANTS your obedience to show our world He is alive and well!

You can impact people on your own, but impacting people with Christ in you will echo into eternity. Make a decision today to leave THAT kind of legacy. Make a decision to live for Jesus and for serving people. Those 365 days per year will go a long way if you do.
